Sixth Form Curriculum Summary

Students choosing to stay on to post-16 study at Thirsk School and Sixth Form College have a wide range of subjects to choose from, both at Level 2 and Level 3.  Subjects available are:-

Year 13

Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Core Maths, Further Maths, Philosophy & Ethics, Health & Social Care (Single and Double), History, ICT, Art, Economics, French, German, Graphics, Media Studies, Music, PE, Sociology, Psychology, 3D Design, Business Studies, Theatre Studies, English Language, English Literature, Photography and Geography.

Year 12

Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Further Maths, Maths 1, Maths 2, Core Maths, English Language, English Literature, PE, German, French, Philosophy & Ethics, Art, English Language, IT, Business, Health & Social Care (Single and Double), History, Photography and Geography.

These include vocational qualifications, academic A-Levels and applied A-Levels.

Pastoral care in the Sixth Form centres on experienced Sixth Form tutors.  Your child will establish strong links with this key member of staff as they deliver career advice, academic support and daily notices.  These staff know the students well and are the first point of contact.
