Information

Thirsk School and Sixth Form College is proud to act as the talent hub for York City Football Club. Every year a group of students in year six are selected on the basis of their football skills. When they start secondary school in Year Seven, these students then have timetabled football training throughout the week, in addition to their normal classes. These sessions are led by York City staff, who work alongside our PE department to get the most out of the players. The aim of this programme is to build them as ambassadors for the beautiful game, teaching them skills in playing, coaching, refereeing, and working in sport. Any questions about the talent hub can be addressed to our talent hub coach, John Dutton.
